What is on offer in this area

We are situated in the middle of a large National Park. Here, the most beautiful part of the river Rhine, meanders majestically from the tourist and wine growing area of Rüdesheim, in the south, to the point where the Mosel joins at the spectacular Deutsches Eck in Koblenz. It then gives way to the Eifel mountains to the north.

The biking roads are superb and are reminiscent of how English roads use to be in the 1950's and 60's; with little traffic, good surfaces, plenty of curves and wonderful countryside. Only 10 minutes from us is the famous Wispertal road, which is as close as you can get to a German version of the Isle of Man.

It's very popular with bikers and it has numerous biker cafe's and hotels dotted here and there as you ride along it.

Motorcycling is a keen pastime in the area and all is close to hand. The Nürburgring is only one hour from us and Hockenheim is
1 ¼ hrs ride.

The largest motorcycle auto jumbles in Europe are held twice a year at Ludwigshafen and Mannheim. Koblenz caters for the indoor international trials competitions and many places like the small village of Bornich hold annual motorcycle rallies. Rüdesheim plays host to the huge Harley Davidson magic rally and is well worth a visit.

This is all in a backdrop of historic castles and towns, rivers, forests, grasslands, winefields, tourist and spa towns, boat trips, cable cars, cafes, restaurants, museums, casinos, family run breweries, distilleries, animal and bird sanctuaries, harbours, sandy beaches, lakes and mountains.

The Rhine goes up in 'flames' three times a year with huge firework displays, fired from small boats and off castle walls. Simply spectacular.

Without a doubt, bike riding around here is a treat; but you can also hire canoes and rowing boats; go on helicopter trips; ballooning; horse riding; swimming; fishing; walking; cycling; wine and beer tasting; gambling; visit historic places, monuments

and castles; the Rhine's 'Blackpool' equivalents; and the large cities like Frankfurt, Koblenz and Wiesbaden.

There are two pleasure parks, Taunus Wunderland and Phantasialand, in the vicinity. Rock concerts are held on the Loreley and a huge five-day event called 'Rock on the Ring' takes over the Nürburgring. The latter was repudiated to have had over 100 bands playing last year on its 25th anniversary

There is a lot of animals in the forest such as wild pigs, deer's and an amazing amount of eagles, buzzards, falcons, kites and owls.

There's plenty to do and it's not so expensive. Germany is approximately
a third cheaper than England; and our customers are always surprised by the price of alcohol, tobaccos and going out to eat.
